Our leadership team alone has 130+ years of combined industry experience. Headquartered just outside of New York City in Bedminster, NJ, we currently have 75+ full-time employees and are continuing to grow along with our client’s needs.
Thomas Capato
Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
As CEO & Co-Founder of FastTrack Automated Solutions & Services for the Life and Disability Insurance Vertical, Thomas is responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of the company. Prior to FastTrack, Thomas was CEO and Co-Founder of GettingHired, LLC, established in 2004, at which he was responsible for the development of the products and business models for GettingHired.com (the largest disability hiring portal in the USA). GettingHired.com was sold to Allegis Group in December 2012. Thomas’ extensive background in sales management includes prior positions as Senior Vice President of North America Sales at 24/7 Real Media, the world’s 2nd largest Internet Media & Technology company, Director of Strategic Sales at CompuCom Systems, a leading international IT outsourcing, software and hardware provider and Senior Vice President of Sales for KeySoft, Inc., a software and services company focused on claims processing productivity improvements. His operational management experience includes positions as Vice President & General Manager at Cara Corporation, a national health claims processing outsourcer for municipal governments and in a Vice President and General Manager role at CGW Data Services, a regional health and pharmacy claims processor.
Michael Fradkin, FSA, MAAA
President
As President, Michael is responsible for all operational aspects of FastTrack Automated Solutions & Services for the Life and Disability Insurance Vertical focused on increasing revenues, ensuring accurate and timely service delivery and the overall satisfaction of customers. Michael joined the company in May 2022 and has spent over 29+ years in the employee benefits insurance industry, specializing in Disability & Life Insurance.
Prior to joining the company, Michael was President of Fradkin Benefits Consulting. His firm provides actuarial and management consulting services for Employee Benefits and Long-Term Care. He is engaged with PwC along with providing direct consulting services to several companies, ranging from a dental AI/data emerging disruptor to more established industry players (carriers and brokers).
Michael has had senior executive roles at MetLife, Lincoln Financial and Guardian, primarily focused within Employee Benefits and Long-Term Care. At MetLife, he served as CFO and Chief Actuary for both Dental and Disability before leading the Disability business. He then led a segment of businesses including Disability, Long Term Care and Voluntary/Supplemental Health. When MetLife pivoted to focus on voluntary, Michael assumed leadership of their Voluntary & Worksite business, leading the strategic changes and capabilities build-outs to enable MetLife to effectively pivot their Group franchise.
At Lincoln, Michael led Financial Planning & Analysis and M&A for the Group division. He led the valuation process and early integration efforts for the acquisition of the Liberty Mutual Group business. During a second stint at Lincoln, he led Product & Underwriting for the Group business.
At Guardian, Michael served as CFO and Chief Actuary for Guardian’s Group business (called Commercial and Government Markets). Within this segment, there was a traditional employee benefits business as well as Dental/Vision government business (Avesis), a Dental Service Organization (DSO) and a Disability/Leave TPA (Reed).
Paul D. Taylor
Chief Operating Officer
As COO, Paul is responsible for all operational aspects of FastTrack Automated Solutions & Services for the Life and Disability Insurance Vertical ensuring accurate and timely service delivery and the overall satisfaction for our customers. Paul joined the company in April 2016 and has spent over 27 years in the employee benefits insurance industry, specializing in Disability Insurance. Prior to joining the company, Paul spent 10 years with MetLife serving as Senior Vice President for the Group Disability and Individual Disability Guaranteed-Issued product lines, Senior Vice President of the Regional Market Employee Benefits market segment serving the group insurance needs for employer groups from 100-5,000 lives, and Vice President of MetLife’s Group and Individual Disability claim operations. Prior to this, he spent 17 years with Unum leading both its Group Disability and Individual Disability claim operations. Paul holds a B.A. degree in Economics and Political Science from Colgate University. He and his family have lived in New Jersey since 2006 after spending time in Tennessee, Massachusetts and Florida.
Barry Cotter
Chief Information Officer
As the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Barry is responsible for FastTrack’s Product Development and Information Technology Groups. Before his current position, Barry held prominent roles in operations and professional services at ClaimVantage, a leading provider of insurance software solutions acquired by Majesco in 2021. Barry spearheaded successful projects throughout his tenure, collaborating closely with insurance companies, third-party administrators (TPAs), and large self-insured employers to deliver exceptional value. Barry earned his Master’s in Telecommunication from Dublin City University (DCU) in Ireland.
Carl Fischer
Chief Financial Officer
Carl is responsible for the finance operations at FastTrack Automated Solutions & Services for the Life and Disability Insurance Vertical. He joined the company in December 2017. Carl has over 37 years of diverse financial management experience in multiple industries. His focus for the past 30 years has been working with several entrepreneurial companies as the lead financial executive. Most recently, Carl worked as CFO for QED Financial Systems, a software development company in the investment accounting space and was instrumental in guiding the company through a 2015 acquisition by Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc., a $4 billion Financial Services company. He has held similar positions with four other companies, working as part of the management team on successful acquisitions with two of them. Carl has a BA in Finance from Seton Hall University and an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Jared Shaw
Chief Product Officer
As the Chief Product Officer, Jared will oversee FastTrack’s product strategies for its digital transformation solutions and services. Jared has 26+ years of experience conceiving, implementing, and leading large-scale software implementations and product management efforts for Life & Disability Fortune 100 companies in the insurance industry. Previously, Jared was Vice President of Industry Solutions at Vitech Systems Group, where he led the design of industry-specific capabilities for the Life & Disability verticals layered on top of the core product. He was also responsible for conceiving, building, and leading a center of excellence focused on transformation and enablement, determining standards and methodologies for use throughout the organization, and creating out-of-the-box solutions for different verticals within the company. Prior to Vitech, Jared also spent time at PeopleSoft, Hewitt Associates, and Viewlocity.
Carl Capato
Senior Vice President of Risk Management

Carl is responsible for business development and ensuring continued growth of the FastTrack product suite of tools and services. Prior to FastTrack, Carl joined GettingHired, LLC in December 2007 as Vice President of Business Development. While in this role he was instrumental in building and managing the business development group and bringing forth the GettingHired.com value proposition that served approximately 265 Fortune 1000 companies and the community of talented people with disabilities by connecting these individuals to employment opportunities. Prior to joining GettingHired, LLC, Carl worked as Vice President of Sales for Keynomics for 15 years. At Keynomics, Carl was instrumental in building and managing a business development and account management staff that provided insurance companies with technology tools that focused on Best Practices and Return On Investment improvements related to quality and productivity from a claims processing perspective.
Sean Rutherford

Analytics & Sales Engineering
As Senior Vice President of Analytics & Sales Engineering, Sean is primarily responsible for FastTrack’s product features, functionality and analytics. Sean has been working in the disability industry for more than 20 years starting as an LTD Claims Analyst and progressively advancing to the Head of Disability Operations. His background includes positions with UNUM Life Insurance, Disability RMS, CORE WorkAbility, Salt Associates, Broadspire Services and as a Principle at a national consulting company. Sean’s vast industry expertise includes all facets of claims operations, analytics and account management in the direct carrier, re-insurance and self-funded environments. Sean holds a Bachelor’s degree in history/education from the University of Southern Maine.
Heidi Bedgar

Product Strategies
As Senior Vice President of Product Strategies at FastTrack, Heidi supports the development and execution of the company’s digital solutions and services. Heidi’s 30-year tenure in the insurance industry brings valuable expertise to her role. Joining FastTrack in 2017, she arrived with a wealth of experience garnered during her 20+ years at MetLife within the Life & Disability Group Insurance domain. At MetLife, Heidi held key positions including Director of Clinical & Specialty Services and Assistant Vice President of Disability Claims. In these roles, she oversaw the operational efficiency of multifaceted clinical and claims organizations, managing a spectrum of products such as Family Medical Leave, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Life Waiver. As Assistant Vice President of Customer Service Delivery, Heidi led a team of Disability and Absence Management Consultants, providing expert guidance on products, processes, and claims data analytics to Group Disability clients. Heidi’s professional foundation is strengthened by her credentials as a Registered Nurse and Certified Case Manager, complemented by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Syracuse University. Her dedication and strategic vision continue to drive FastTrack’s innovation and excellence in the insurance industry.
Greg Hafner
Senior Vice President of
Operations
Greg Hafner is an Insurance Operations executive with 30 years of experience leading Claims and Service Operations formerly for CIGNA, MetLife and Guardian Life Insurance. Greg brings a deep understanding of Group Insurance products and services – with particular expertise in the Life & Disability area. Greg brings a proven track record of success in managing large and complex operations, driving best-in-class client experiences, and reducing expenses – while delivering the highest levels of quality. Over the course of his career, he has led Operations through transformations to drive materially improved claim outcomes, establish customer centric measures of success and leverage technology to drive both efficiencies and improved customer experiences. Greg is a leader with a focus on fostering an environment of trust, inclusiveness and accountability, while reinforcing a shared sense of purpose.
Robert Gilleece
Vice President of
Information Systems
As Vice President of Information Systems, Rob is responsible for FastTrack’s Application Development Team. Rob has been with FastTrack for over 11 years serving as Director of Information Systems, Analyst, and Applications Developer. Prior to joining FastTrack, Rob was an IT Specialist for IBM, where he supported web applications in the shipping and container industry with a focus on EDI and data integration. Before working at IBM, Rob worked for the Maersk shipping company as a Technical Support Specialist and product readiness coordinator. He focused on the overall quality of several enterprise projects. Rob spent nine years serving in the US Navy as a Radioman earning the rank of Petty Officer First Class and being awarded a Navy Achievement Medal for outstanding performance.
