Claims Administrative Services (CAS) Specialist
Meet Sarah – a rising star on our Claims Administrative Services (CAS) team! She is a mom of 3 beautiful kids, a cat named Milo, and four “golden girls” (in her own words 😆). What is your current position with FastTrack?
I am a Claims Administrative Services Specialist, working since September 2023.
What is your typical workday like?
I work remotely, so after we get my 3 kids off to school, I am right to the office, and get to work processing the day’s claims. I get to work hand-in-hand with our Claims Administrative Services (CAS) team daily, and—thanks to modern technology known as Teams—although were not together, we’re always “close” by!
Do you work with any specific customers?
I currently process claims for our clients Protective and Primerica Canada.
Describe your career path within FastTrack. Have you held any other position(s)?
I have not held any other positions within FastTrack, but I love the variety of opportunities the company provides and look forward to taking advantage of that! 😊
How has FastTrack helped your personal and professional development?
Working with FastTrack has done wonders 🙌! I’ve always been a hands-on, paper and pen ✍️ kind of girl, and the technology that FastTrack is known for has provided me the ability to learn so much in this fast-growing digital world. It’s taken me out of my comfort zone and I LOVE that!
What is something you love about working for FastTrack?
Everyday is something new, whether it be a challenge to overcome or an ordinary day of processing, I’m always learning new ways of doing things to improve my work and build my confidence within my job. Our CAS team is great and is always there to help, which makes for a very pleasant work environment!
Do you have any accomplishments within the organization you’re particularly proud of?
I’d like to think I’ve learned my job pretty efficiently, and have executed it to the best of my ability and then some, and on almost all days with a smile. 😊
What is your favorite book, movie, or show?
I don’t watch much TV other than hockey and Bluey thanks to my family, but I do dabble in the occasional true crime podcast or documentary. I have recently picked up “reading” audiobooks and am enjoying different varieties.
Do you have any pets?
We have a cat 🐈 named Milo. I also have 4 chickens 🐓 that we fittingly call the “Golden Girls”. 😆
Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
I have an eclectic list of hobbies because I love learning new things! Whether it’s building something with power tools, sewing, baking, or practicing my green thumb, you name it and I’ve probably tried to learn it!
What type of activities are you most likely to be up to on the weekends?
Cheerleading! My kids are very involved in sports so if I’m not in the car traveling to and from, I’m freezing in a hockey rink somewhere, or dodging rain at a soccer field.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Anywhere with a beach! Since I was a kid, we’ve always gone to Ocean City, MD, so that is nostalgic and will always be a favorite of mine. But I dream of staying in one of those little huts over the gorgeous blue water of Bora Bora. 🏝
What’s your favorite 21st century innovation?
The “find my phone” feature on my Apple watch! 😝
What is something you loved doing as a kid? Do you still do it now?
Camping ⛺️. We had a camper growing up and would often camp at the beach on Assateague Island, while chasing the wild horses 🐴 away from digging in our coolers of food.
Do you have any unique or hidden talents?
I ❤️ woodworking and carpentry. I dream to one day build a home with my own two hands. It may be a shack, but a home nonetheless! 😂
Who is one of your personal heroes?
My grandmother-in-law Rose. She has endured so much in her life, and still remains true to her faith and loves her family so deeply, before herself. I want to be her when I grow up!
What is your motto for life?
“If not me, then who? If not now, then when?”
What’s a surprising fact about yourself?
While I’m pretty reserved on a personal level, I have always really enjoyed public speaking.
If there was a movie about your life made, who would you want the narrator to be?
Julia Roberts! She has a classy wit about herself.
