Junior Software Developer
Meet Paul – a quickly rising FastTracker 🚀 on our Development Team. Paul, who came to FastTrack back in November 2023, is laser focused on the evolution of FastTrack’s Technology Applications, ensuring every aspect is running smoothly and efficiently for our carrier-partners. On a personal level, Paul is an avid gamer 🎮 who prefers to spend his down time close to home with his fiancé and adorable cat, Oliver. 😍

What is your current position with FastTrack?
My current position with FastTrack is Junior Software Developer.
What is your typical workday like?
I spend my day working on new features and changes to the FastTrack Applications.
Tell us about your career path with FastTrack. Have you held any other position(s) within the company?
This past November marked my first full year with FastTrack.
What is something you love about working for FastTrack?
It’s the Culture! Our higher ups really care about us, and are very flexible.
Do you have any accomplishments within the organization you’re particularly proud of?
I enjoyed and am still proud of our integration between our client, Symetra, and a third-party vendor. I am also proud of our current work with Ameritas. 🙌
What is your favorite media or series?
Video Games: Final Fantasy 7 and Silent Hill
Authors: Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft
Books: Just about anything in the Star Wars series
Shows: Helluva Boss, Hazbin Hotel, Lord of the Rings, and anything Star Wars
Do you have any pets?
I have one cat named Oliver. 🐈
Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
Gaming 🎮, this includes video games and tabletop RPGs. I currently have two tabletop games running. One Starfinder campaign and one Exalted 3E campaign. I’m also a part of a Pathfinder campaign.
I also love 3D printing and putting together Models. I have a couple Gundam models that I’m working on right now.
What type of activities are you most likely to be up to on the weekends?
Playing video games, cleaning, and hanging out with my fiancé. ❤️
What is your favorite vacation destination?
I usually do a staycation 🏡, but I’d really like to visit Italy and the Vatican ⛪️ one day!
Who is one of your personal heroes?
My Dad, He was a Methodist Pastor for more than 40 years. He is one of the wisest people I know. He’s also 82 with Parkinsons and I hope I handle things as well as he does now when I’m his age.
What are your top three most overused words/phrases?
‘”Yeah?”, “It is what it is.”, and “I’m aware”.
What’s a surprising fact about yourself?
When I was 10, I had my right eardrum replaced. I can hear better now, but there was damage to the bones in my ear so I still have trouble hearing and understanding on that side sometimes.
