Jim Kuipers
Client Services Director (CSD)
Meet Jim – a five-year veteran and all-star leader on FastTrack’s Client Services Team! ✨ His expansive repertoire includes more than three decades of experience in operations and project management, including holding Group Disability senior leadership roles at a tier 1 insurance carrier for more 28 years. A Disney fanatic and self-acclaimed cigar aficionado, Jim enjoys his down time by taking in his surroundings–wherever that may be–in the company of his friends and family. What is your current position with FastTrack?
I am a Client Services Director (CSD). I celebrated my 5th year with FastTrack in October of 2022. 🙌
What is your typical workweek like?
There is no “typical” in the CSD world. Every day brings different activities and challenges which actually makes the job interesting. Some days can be very consistent with what you had planned while others require you to adapt to the changes of the day and the needs of the clients.
Do you work with any specific customers?
Currently, I handle Protective LW and DI, Modern Woodmen LW, and Reliance LW and DI. I am also assisting with the implementation of some new clients for our Life product.
Tell us about your career path within FastTrack…
I have held the Client Service Director position since joining FastTrack in October of 2017.
How has FastTrack helped your personal and professional development?
I’ve learned much more in-depth information about the Life Waiver product in this position. My previous experience was focused on the Disability product with only very general exposure to Life Waiver. I’ve also enjoy working in a smaller company and more close-knit environment (which required some adaptation after coming from a very large insurance carrier).
What is something you love about working for FastTrack?
I like the atmosphere and culture that comes from a smaller company. There is a lot of great collaboration and solid relationships that develop from everyone working closely together and interacting with each other on a very regular basis.
Do you have any accomplishments within the organization you’re particularly proud of?
I’m very pleased to have seen all of the carriers I have been working with renew their relationships with FastTrack over the last couple of years 👏. That tells me that we are delivering on our commitments and their expectations and we are adding value to their business!
What is your favorite book, movie, or show?
I don’t know that I have a current favorite in any of these categories at present, but one of my favorite television series of all time was The West Wing. I’m also a big fan of Seinfeld and still try to catch reruns whenever I can.
Do you have any pets?
We have a Shih Tzu named Zoey. We also have a very unique pet known as a Sugar Glider 🧐 (which is more my wife’s pet since it doesn’t really get along with me).
Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
While I don’t get to do it nearly enough (and I’m not very good), I do enjoy golf. I’ve also become somewhat of a cigar aficionado over the last few years. 😎
What type of activities are you most likely to be up to on the weekends?
The things I couldn’t get done during the week and spending time with friends.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
I’ve always been a Disney fanatic. Not necessarily going to the parks, but just vacationing on property and enjoying the atmosphere. One place I would like to get to in the not too distant future would be Aruba. 🏝
What person would you most like to switch places with for a day?
Bob Iger, CEO of the Walt Disney Company. I’d like to both run Disney and get the paycheck 💵 he earns just for one day!
What’s the first thing you would do if you won the lottery?
Take care of friends and family and also make some contributions to my favorite charities and organizations.
What is your favorite 21st century innovation?
I guess I would have to go with the smartphone since it provides so much access to so many things in the palm of your hand and lets you be connected virtually anywhere at any time. 📱
Have you ever had an encounter with anyone famous?
I’ve met several famous people over the years (mostly in brief photo op situations) including Huey Lewis, Lester Holt, Jon Bon Jovi, Dick Butkus, Drew Bledsoe, and Mike Ditka.
If there was a movie about your life made, who would you wan the narrator to be?
Morgan Freeman or James Earl Jones.
