Meet Gurjit – An amazing QA Analyst in our IT department 💫! Going on almost two (2) years as a FastTrack employee, “G”, as many people call him, is a testing wizard 🪄 in the world of software development. On a personal level, Gurjit is a father of two beautiful daughters, and he’s also a big golf fanatic who is very devoted to improving his golf swing 🏌🏼♂️ in any way possible. What is your current position with FastTrack?
QA Analyst, which I have been for almost two years. 💯 😊
What is your typical workday like?
Depending on where we are on our sprints, it can be anywhere from test planning, test execution, test case creation and also test review. Test ✅, Test ✅, Test ✅ !
How has FastTrack helped your personal and professional development?
It has allowed for collaboration with the developers, which has given me insight into system flows/processes to help me better understand software development. 🙌
What is something you love about working for FastTrack?
As a smaller company, we have the advantage of being able to easily communicate with anyone within the organization for assistance on various matters! We’re also always welcomed in doing so.
What is your favorite book, movie, or show?
Recently, I have developed a strong interest in golf ⛳️ and have become completely engrossed in it. I am enthusiastic about anything related to golf, including the PGA tour, instructional videos, at-home training accessories, and training gear.
Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
I do a lot of running 🏃🏻♂️! At peak training, I am doing about 70 miles a week, and during the off season I usually still get in about 40-50.
What type of activities are you most likely to be up to on the weekends?
I have two daughters, aged 6 and 4, and my weekends revolve around them. Between taking them to their recreational sports activities, running errands, and visiting family, our weekends are fully packed!
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Napa Valley 🍷 🍇 was amazing, and I would love to go to Italy or the Netherlands.
What’s the first thing you would do if you won the lottery?
Retire! 🤣
What’s your favorite 21st century innovation?
GPS navigation.
What is something you loved doing as a kid? Do you still do it now?
Late night snacking is something I have always done and don’t think I can ever stop!
Who is one of your personal heroes?
My Father.
What is your motto for life?
“We will never know how great we can be unless we push ourselves beyond the limits.”
What are your top three most overused words or phrases?
“Hang on one sec”, “I’ll look into it”, and “Oh boy!”
What’s a surprising fact about yourself?
I do not know how to swim (I need to go get lessons 😆).
If there was a movie made about your life, who would you want the narrator to be?
Do you have any nicknames?
Some people call me “G”; it’s a bit easier to pronounce than Gurjit.
