Meet Lorena – a stellar claims specialist 💫 on our Claims Administrative Services (CAS) team! Lorena joined FastTrack back in the summer of 2020 and quickly made an impact amongst her peers. Responsible for overseeing FastTrack’s intelligent automation throughout the claims journey, Lorena assists in the claims management process helping bring claims to good order, swiftly and accurately. On a personal note, Lorena is an avid adventurist who loves to maximize her time with new experiences. 🤩

What is your current position with FastTrack?
Client Administration Services (CAS) Specialist
What is your typical workday like?
I review and assist with claims processing tasks to help bring claims into good order for our carrier-clients. 💪
How has FastTrack helped your personal and professional development?
It has helped me focus more on a task, since claims processing does require attention to detail in order to achieve minimal errors. ✅
What is something you love about working for FastTrack?
Every month it is celebrated when a CAS admin achieves a high percentage of quality in claim processing. It is always a good feeling to achieve that 100% perfection with no errors in the month and every month we all strive for that 100%!
Do you have any accomplishments within the organization you’re particularly proud of?
Really just being acknowledged in terms of providing value. Its often times hard to see exactly where quality assurance (QA) work shows through, but having upper management acknowledge our work is very rewarding. 🙌
What is your favorite media or series?
I am big into comedy podcasts. There is this one in particular that is my #1 called Bad Friends. 2 comedians in one podcast just having an hour of outrageous funny role playing or storytelling. It is just truly hilarious and who doesn’t love to laugh!? 😆
Do you have any pets?
My boy dog 🐶, he is a rescue Bichon Frise named Jaghatai. Yes, the name is crazy! My fiancé named him after some game that he loves based on medieval war time. I don’t know much about it and at first it was hard to remember the name, but now it just rolls out the tongue, lol!
Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
I love bike riding 🚴♀️. I have a nice collection of different styles of bicycles. My favorite one is my all-chrome low rider bicycle, it is very “California”. I also love the beach. Just something about the ocean that makes me so happy, just to smell the air and hear the waves. 🌊
What type of activities are you most likely to be up to on the weekends?
During the summer I love festivals and lakes. Summer is really the time to be out and about on weekends.
When it gets cold, any activity indoors is great. Aquariums, exhibitions, museums, concerts, laser tag, bowling. I try to look for anything new and adventurous I can get myself into.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
I have loved my vacations to Jamaica and Costa Rica. One for the beaches and fun and the other for the wildlife and fauna. I would love to go to Hawaii and Bora Bora next.
What person would you most like to switch places with for a day?
Any of the Irwins! I used to be a huge fan of Steve Irwin, and now his kids follow in his footsteps, which is just amazing. I would love to just get to experience one day in their shoes and have access to their wildlife adventures. I have always loved animals, and any type of conservationist work is extremely important for the planet.
What’s the first thing you would do if you won the lottery?
By my mother the house of her dreams!
What is your favorite 21st century innovation?
The majestic air-fryer. 😆
What’s something you loved doing as a kid? Do you still do it now?
Bike riding. I still love it and I hope my baby loves it too someday when he rides for the first time!
Do you have any unique or hidden talents?
The only think I can think of is I am pretty good at coming up with a nice meal even though I am no cook.
Who is one of your personal heroes?
My mother. ❤️
I admire her tenacity and intelligence. She has played a lot of roles in our lives, and I don’t know how she does it. She can be an accountant and then a nurse and then a chef, without actually being any of the above. She is awesome.
Have you ever had an encounter with anyone famous?
I got to meet a music artist once at a party I attended. I got to take a picture with him and tell him it was my birthday. His name is ASAP Rocky.
What is your motto for life?
Life is short, so do what makes you happy today! 🙌
What’s a surprising fact about yourself?
I am a pescatarian. I am also an animal advocate. I have OCD with cleanliness in the home and hate shoes in the house. I also try my best to teach those around me to not be wasteful with anything and recycle always.
If there was a movie made about your life, who would you want the narrator to be?
The Queen, Viola Davis! ⭐️
Do you have any nicknames?
Yes, Lo or Lolo.
Is there anything not mentioned about yourself that you would like to share?
I lost my grandmother to the pandemic. I loved her very much, she raised me. Whenever I see an elderly person, I get this very warm feeling in my heart. I think the elderly are so special and hold so much wisdom because they have seen so much in their time.
