Mei Yip
BUSINESS ANALYST
Meet Mei – a key member of the FastTrack family for over a year now. She’s a wonderful mother of two, lover of sci-fi flicks, and an avid bicycle rider.
What is your current position with FastTrack? How long have you been in it?
My current position is Business Analyst. I have been with FastTrack a little over a year now.
What is your typical workweek like?
My typical day at work is perform analysis of FastTrack’s processes, capture client needs, and work with innovative leaders and our internal development team. This helps us to address needs that may arise and provide solutions to our clients.
Do you work with any specific customers?
Most of my work is directly involved with one of our larger client-partners, The Standard.
How has FastTrack helped your personal and professional development?
Being at FastTrack has helped me develop my speaking and analytic skills by being part of client meetings and working with FastTrack leaders that coach and enable me as I learn more and more. In addition, working closely with lead developers lets me see many different ways to find solutions.
What is something you love about working at FastTrack?
What motivates me to go to work each day is knowing that I work with bright and wonderful people at FastTrack. I love providing new solutions that will enable clients efficiently do their work and process claims.
What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, or podcast?
I love Sci-Fi movies like Avatar, Hunger Games, and Independence Day. Plus some non-English ones like Space Sweepers (Korean), Shanghai Fortress (Chinese), and The Wesley’s Mysterious File (Chinese).
Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
Riding my bike and swimming. I always wish I had more time to do these activities.
What type of activities are you mostly likely to be up to on the weekends?
I lived in NY all my life and only moved to NJ a few years ago. So, on the weekends, I like to venture out and explore the fun things there are to do in NJ and spend some time with my two little ones.
What is your favorite vacation destination? What’s one you haven’t visited yet but would like to in the future?
My favorite destinations that I’ve been to are are Italy and Disney. I would love to visit Aruba and Australia someday as well.
What’s the first thing you would do if you won the lottery?
Buy myself a seat on a commercial rocket ship that was headed for the moon.
What’s something you loved doing as a kid? Do you still do it now?
Volunteering at a hospital to help elderly patients suffering from Alzheimer. I don’t do it anymore, but would love to be able to volunteer again if given the opportunity.
Who is one of your personal heroes?
Storm from the X-Men! Love that she can command and change weather any time.
What is your motto for life?
