The Challenge

A major part of this Insurer’s Return-to-Work (RTW) effort was combined with its Vocational Rehabilitation group. Competing priorities forced RTW to take a back seat to Vocational Rehabilitation in terms of resource allocations. An internal analysis determined that an RTW partner should be sought out with the objective of implementing a “Best Practice RTW program” that included automated functionality, so more claimants can be engaged in RTW activity.

 

The Approach

The Insurer began using FastTrack’s Career Services Tools (CST) in 2015 with the following objectives: promote early intervention for appropriate RTW candidates through automation, use technology tools to assist the claimant with networking, development of a career profile and getting matched to open positions that the claimant is capable of performing based on their current restrictions and limitations and provide unlimited professional career counseling to assist the claimant through this life changing process.

 

The Outcome

• For participating claimants, the insurer has experienced a 10.2% increase in RTW placements

• The insurer’s sales force has used the CST program as a product differentiator for their existing and prospective LTD customers

• The insurer is experiencing a return of $11.46 for every $1.00 invested in CST
